Big upgrades make a big impression at Charing Cross

Coral was involved in the Station Information and Security Systems (SISS) renewal project at Charing Cross and a number of other key stations, demonstrating our ability to deliver large-scale infrastructure upgrades within critical transport environments. Through careful planning and close collaboration with Network Rail, Coral played a pivotal role in installing new systems that could meet future needs, enhance station management and provide an exceptional passenger experience.

Key activities

  • CCTV upgrade
  • Public Address and Voice Alarm Systems (PA/VA)
  • Customer Information Systems
  • Passenger Help Points integrations
  • Legacy SISS migration

Hidden details

It’s sometimes the things you don’t see that make all the difference to a project. With so many new systems being installed, Coral also ensured that all the supporting cabling was replaced and upgraded for futureproofing, fitting proper cable management systems alongside to keep everything clean, organised and efficient.

Right on time

In a railway setting, time is of the essence. Coral worked tirelessly to upgrade and enhance the existing Customer Information Systems, as well as install new displays and mainboards to provide real-time, accurate travel information to passengers. This included phasing out legacy station clocks to ensure a reliable timing source for train dispatch, helping the station to keep running smoothly.
